The first day of high school
Today was the first day of high school. It was very different from high school in Spain, mainly because they don’t have exams — it’s more like a transition year.
Also, they have lunch at school, which was very strange for me.
In the first hour, we had Music. In this class, we had a lot of fun because we spent the whole time dancing.
The next hour we had Spanish, which was very easy for me.
After that class, we had a short break where we had a snack. Then we had Physical Education (PE), a class where we had a lot of fun playing different sports.
After PE, we had Irish class. The teacher made groups with Spanish and Irish students mixed together. She taught us how to say basic words in Irish. Then, the teacher filmed us and showed the video on the whiteboard.
After this class, we had our last break, during which we had lunch.
Next, we had our final class of the day: Social, Personal and Health Education, where we talked about mental health.
After that, we went to the pitch to watch hurling training.
When it finished, we went to his great uncle’s house to have dinner. They were very kind to me, and we had delicious pasta with meat.
Afterwards, we went back to his house, and I spent the rest of the day doing my homework from Spain.
